My company wants to offer services. How do we join the marketplace?
Joining the marketplace and listing services is simple and free. Contact our head of business development, Mei Li, PhD, at 877 644 3044 ext 402 (or mli@assaydepot.com) to set up a 10 minute web demo and review the provider agreement.
What types of samples may I submit with my order?
Each service listing on the website should contain information about sample requirements and sample shipping instructions. Required samples include chemical compounds, nucleic acids (DNA or RNA), protein, cells, tissues, cell lysates and supernatants, blood, serum, urine, and saliva among many others.
How do I register with Assay Depot?
You can use the marketplace without registering. You will be asked to register as soon as you initiate the checkout process. Registering is easy. Simply fill in your name, email address and affiliation (if any) and you’re done. If you pay for your order by purchase order, you will also need to set up a Payment Account.
Do I need to negotiate and sign a separate legal contract with each provider on the marketplace?
No, all service providers have already signed a legal contract with Assay Depot covering confidentiality, privacy and other key terms. There is no need to go through time-consuming and expensive legal discussions.
How can I pay for my marketplace order?
You can pay for your order with any major credit card or with a purchase order. Before submitting a purchase order, you must sign up for a Payment Account.
How do I review the status of my current orders?
To review the status of any ordered service, first click on the “account” tab at the top of the page and then choose “Account Dashboard”.
How do I know what service reviews I have pending?
To access a list of pending service reviews, click on “account” at the top of the page and then choose “Account Dashboard”. Your pending reviews are located near the bottom of the Account Dashboard page.
How do I fill out a service review?
To fill out a service review, first click on the “account” tab at the top of the page and then choose “Account Dashboard”. Scroll to the bottom section entitled “Reviews”. Click on the link entitled “Write Review” next to the service name. We use a five star rating system with one (1) star denoting poor service and five (5) stars denoting outstanding service.
What happens after I submit a quotation request form?
After you submit your completed form, the request is immediately sent by email to the service provider(s) you have selected. We strongly encourage service providers to turn around custom quotes within one (1) business day, although some complex quotation requests may take up to five (5) days. The providers submit their quotations back to Assay Depot. We email you the quoted prices as soon as we receive them.
Can I choose more than one provider for a custom quotation?
Yes, we enable you to request a custom quotation from up to three (3) providers.
How do I ship my sample to the service provider?
Each service has different sample requirements and shipping instructions, both of which are typically described within the service listing. You can ship your samples by FedEx, DHL, USPS or UPS.
If it's free for the customer to use the marketplace and if it's free for the service provider to list their services, how does Assay Depot make money?
If (and only if) the service order is placed through the marketplace, Assay Depot gets a commission from the service provider. That’s why we work hard to convince you to place your orders using the website.
How do I place an order for a fixed-price service?
Placing an order for fixed price services is exactly like buying books from Amazon except you need to associate any samples you will ship to the provider with the services you are ordering. This association of samples to services is done as one of the first steps in the checkout process.
How do I sign up for a Payment Account?
Customers need to set up a Payment Account if they plan on paying for services by purchase order/invoice. Setting up a Payment Account is easy. Simply call Andy Martin at (877) 644 3044×301 and answer a few questions. He will ask you a few simple questions and then work directly with your purchasing department to authorize the account.
How do I search the marketplace for services or service providers?
You can search for services or service providers by simply entering key words into the search box located in the middle of the home page or located in the upper right corner of all other pages.
